That's right, I also took a trip down to Petersburg in this video, particularly to chase CSX G777 south.

(0:00): Walking by AM Junction just before the Floodwall and the I-95 overpass.

(0:49): CSX G777 with the SD70MAC duo begins its trek south as it crosses the former SAL bridge over Dock Street.

(11:40): Amtrak P186 switches over to the Bellwood Sub at AM Junction to get to Main Street Station. This train will take the approximately 20 miles of the Bellwood Sub's old jointed rail before reaching Staples Mill Road Station, where the rest of its run will be on CSX's RF&P Sub and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.

(12:25): Some geese and some goslings.

(12:41): CSX Y110 (Fulton Yard pushers) head back to Fulton after escorting G777 to the connector. This was shot while driving Dock Street toward I-95. I had my fun downtown and felt like chasing the grain train.

(13:03): Passing some horses and cows in the pasture when approaching Collier Yard. Fun fact: Horses can live to be more than 30 years old, so I bet the guys who have been coming here for decades have seen these same horses many times. Just like alligators can live up to 100 years, making it more likely for them to see you later.

(13:39): NS V62 passes under Collier Yard slower than a Bob Semple tank (a very weak tank built by New Zealand during WWII that had numerous design flaws and was never mass produced or used in combat; top speed was 15 MPH). The reason it's crawling is because it would have to wait at Crater for Amtrak P095 to pass.

(18:53): Amtrak P095 switches onto the Norfolk Connector at B.X. with the Phase II heritage unit leading.

(21:13): Passing the cows again.

(21:19): V62 gets underway again.

(23:17): CSX L227 can be seen switching deep into the yard, and CSX G777 comes south with the MAC duo. This train was going slower, because apparently with two DC units as DPUs, they weren't keeping up or something (it's worth nothing that these two GEVOs were leading another grain train, but these trains combined in Hinton). That's why DC power is obsolete to the railroads now. Once NS is finished rebuilding the Dash 9s, the DC GEVOs will be next. Then NS will have no more DC power except the SD40-2s and Geeps.

(32:23): Amtrak P091 races south with a horn-happy engineer! It was nice to see a pair of P42s since this train usually runs with Chargers now.

(33:10): NS 278 hurries under Vaughan Road while CSX L251 heads to International Paper around the corner. The timing of this meet was immaculate.

(39:44): After Greg, Scott (CSX engineer), and I returned from dinner at Huddle House, we caught Amtrak P097 passing by (it was dark and mostly blocked by M300, which arrived while we were at dinner and stopped to work the yard).

(40:10): CSX M409 passes by with a pair of unidentified GEVOs, concluding the evening. Also notice how one hopper on M300 has Winnie The Pooh graffiti.

(43:11): Slideshow.
