John Lennon and Yoko Ono Demonstrate "Howling" (1969)

On 16 September 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono spoke to ITN's Keith Hatfield about their new act: a raw form of expression they called "howling", and even gave him a demonstration.

Recorded one month after the Beatles' last collective recording session, and only months before Paul McCartney's announcement of the band's break-up, Lennon showed clear interest in pursuing outside projects, and expressed openness at the idea of going solo: "If I feel like performing, I'll perform, you know?"
