November Planting Guide for Zones 9 & 10 & Explaining The Fall Effect

Описание к видео November Planting Guide for Zones 9 & 10 & Explaining The Fall Effect

Fall gardening can be pretty unique here in zones 9 and 10, so we're going to talk about WHAT to plant but also WHY.

Cool season gardening generally breaks down to GREENS and ROOTS. This is going to include brassicas, lettuces, alliums, beets, carrots, potatoes, etc.

When we get into the spring and summer, that's when we get FRUITS. This time of year, there isn't enough sunlight for plants to put all of the energy into tomatoes, squash, peppers, etc. Plus, it's just too cool this time of year even if we don't get a frost.

Flowers can be a little trickier to know, but we've done all of the research for you.

If you think about having something like broccoli in December or January, that makes sense... to EAT it then. That means you need to PLANT several weeks BEFORE then.

The limited sunlight means plants are slow to grow AND they'll also stay in their vegetative state instead of flowering. That's when you want to eat these.
