Last week. I was in Moab with my family, a sacred landscape with endless adventures. We’ve hiked canyons that are rich with petroglyphs of animals, circles, and spirals—all powerful symbols.

Spirals remind me of the power of the inner journey, the need to "spiral in" to the center, the path of discovery. We gather power and wisdom. Then, we need to bring our gifts back out into the world. We "spiral out" to complete the circle…receiving, giving, receiving again...

There are invisible threads of connection between all people, animals, and the planet. We all have an innate need to be nurtured, protected, and respected. This awareness helps to build your capacity to see others for who they really are. It allows you to look into the faces of your fellow human travelers and see their essence, even if it is tucked away in the recesses of a wounded heart. Some days you might be receiving support. Other days you might be caring for another, standing up for civil rights, or protecting our planet. When you play your part in this dance of giving and receiving, you help weave our interconnected web of community.

These experiences leave me feeling inextricably connected to the land and the history of ancestors who once walked this land. Sensing myself woven into this tapestry of life.

Physically this class explores myofascial lines of spleen & gall bladder supporting balanced emotions and a deeper connection to yourself.

Small Contribution

Each one of us is
woven tightly in the
tapestry of life.
I used to think my
thread could be readily
discarded. One thread
in a billion threads –
who would ever notice?
But the beauty of the
cloth depends on all
of us – no superfluous
material here, no excess
thread to cut off and
throw away. Every
strand is irreplaceable.
How different to live
as if each small contribution
matters to the whole.
