Howdy, guys and gals. This video explains how I apply multiple layers of cement stucco to bring the stucco out to 1 1/2 inches thick. (Jason, sped the camera up for your comedic entertainment)
The average stucco thickness is technically 7/8 of an inch.
Therefore, I am applying 3 scratch coats about half-inch thick, each back to back.
A fella or Hod Carrier has to be really on the ball if he is to mix this type of material, or the person applying will have a hard time putting it on a wall.

This stucco was so thick that they removed one-inch sheathing, then fixed the dry rot.
Instead of attaching one-inch sheathing back, they used half-inch sheathing to put it back together. So we had to make up the difference in depth with extra stucco.
