RARE - Rita Hunter Sings A Top D - Norma Act 1 Scene 8 & 9 The MET 1975

There is a story behind the unique Top D that Rita sings at the end of this. Due to a very busy schedule, at the time, she was mortified to find out that she had forgotten a dear friends' birthday.

"I am so sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"

To which her friend said "how about a Top D at the end of act one"

"DONE!" said Rita

So what you have here is her birthday present to her friend. What I give to you is the gift of this rarity on what would have been her 91st birthday. Gifts all round :)
