“Busena” is a Tonga word, which means space or room. In this song I am calling
out for God to find space or room in my heart. I wrote this song when I was in
southern province. At that time I had stopped singing and I felt too busy to even
pray. All I wanted was just to make money and concentrate on other things in my
life. There is nothing wrong with aspiring these things in life, but when you
exclude your obligation to worship God everything becomes wrong. It did not
even take so long before I felt dry or empty spiritually. I started missing the
presence of God. When you are a child of God you will realize that there is a part
in your life, which can only be filled by God. Not your job, money, friends but
only God. Therefore, one day when I was reading the bible in the book of John
chapter 15. I read verse 4 of the same chapter and it says, “ Remain in me, and I
will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine
and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me”(NLT). The Holy Spirit through
this scripture reminded me of how that it was vital for me to put my self in Christ
and allow Him to find a place in me. I was also reminded that if I take that step I
would find fulfillment and also become fruitful in my calling. I remember that
day very well, praying to God to find this place in my heart again. Therefore,
because I am a musical person I felt the conviction to write a song that spoke to
my situation. That is how the song Busena, a Tonga song was written and later
on recorded at Ben Blazer studios.
