Everyone has heard of the napoleonic wars.. but have you heard of the seven years wars or the seven years' wars? This is arguably the first world war and it was all the way back in the 1700's! Prussia, Britain and Hannover fought against Austria, France, Russia, Sweden and the Saxons! This musket age war actually spanned 5 continents with the majority of the fighting being done in Europe, North America and Asia! At a later stage the Spanish and portuguese both got involved in the european war and this contributed to battles fought in South America as well as Africa. The result of this war set in to motion the soon to come napoleonic wars and later the great war, the war to end all wars... world war 1 WW1.
