Easy David Austin Rose Tutorial

Today we will learn how to make a beautiful David Austin Rose which is a very elegant sugar flower used by many cake artists and decorators.

This tutorial will help you master the David Austin Rose without any special tools or even a styrofoam ball. Learn how to make and shade this beautiful and realistic flower along with basic foliage in a step-by-step tutorial now.

Tools & materials needed:
- white Gumpaste
- cornstarch to prevent sticking
- gel color to shade the gum paste
- water
- thin paintbrush to apply water
- thick round/flat brush for dusting cornstarch
- flat/thin paintbrush for shading
- 20 and 22-gauge floral wire (white)
- 3 consecutive sizes of rose petal cutters
- Gumpaste rolling pin, foam pad, and ball tool
- Dresden tool
- Petal dust (I have used peach, white, and blush pink. You can use the colors according to the rose that you are making)

Petal guide:
* Size 1: 35 petals for the core (darkest shade)
* Size 2: 11 petals for layers 1 and 2 (shade 1)
* Size 2: 11 petals for layers 3 and 4 (shade 2)
* Size 3: 5 petals for layers 5 (shade 3)
* Size 3: 5 petals for layers 6 (lightest layer)
Cut a few extras in each size in case they tear or get damaged
