Why are all prime numbers of the form 6n+1 or 6n-1?

Описание к видео Why are all prime numbers of the form 6n+1 or 6n-1?

Many of us tend to remember a lot of rules in quant. I think what has helped me the most is asking why - why do these rules hold?

One of the rules we learn is that all prime numbers are of the forms 6n+1 or 6n-1.

But why? Why do all prime numbers follow one of these two forms?

In this video, I discuss why it is not possible for prime numbers to have any other form.

If you have unresolved whys around other quant rules you've learned, you can let me know. I can create videos on those rules too :)
