LEADIN:
Pakistan’s southwestern Baluchistan province is in the grip of severe cold with temperatures dropping to -17 degree Celsius.

People are protesting as they don't have enough fuel to keep warm.

STORYLINE:

A blanket of snow covers Khanozai, in Baluchistan.

This wintery weather is not welcome here.

The simple mud houses are not built to withstand freezing temperatures and many homes don't have a gas supply to keep the people living inside warm.

Most buy wood to burn for heat.

Even the elderly, like 72-year-old Muhammad Aslam, rely on this for fuel.

But he says it is a difficult way of life.

The mountainous towns of Khanozai , Ziarat and Kalat have been reporting the lowest freezing temperatures.
