The Tyranny of King Washington is an episodic single-player downloadable content addition for Assassin's Creed III, which is composed of three parts: The Infamy, The Betrayal, and The Redemption.

The entire trilogy was also included in the Season Pass for the game.[1] The main plot centers on Ratonhnhaké:ton after he awakens from an unsettling dream to find that, despite his efforts to deliver justice to the newly-founded United States of America, George Washington has proclaimed himself a king and rules as a tyrant. Ratonhnhaké:ton then proceeds on a quest to restore a kingless society. The story is canon because at the ending, the entire scenario is revealed to be a vision of a possible future projected by the Apple of Eden to Ratonhnhaké:ton and Washington.

The Infamy was released on 19 February, 2013 for PC and Xbox 360. On 20 February, 2013, the PS3 version was released alongside with The Betrayal, which was slated for 19 and 20 March, 2013. Lastly, The Redemption was released on 23 and 24 April, 2013 for all compatible consoles.
