On the Supreme Court hearing in the West Bengal Special Intensive Revision (SIR) case, TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee said a detailed hearing took place and all parties were heard.

According to Banerjee, the Court directed that the list of 8,500 persons provided by the state government regarding micro observers must report to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) by 5 PM tomorrow. The Election Commission will then examine the validity of their documents.

He stated that micro observers will assist in scrutinising documents and understanding Bengali names, while objections will be heard by the ERO. The final decision, Banerjee said, will rest with the ERO.

The matter is scheduled to be heard again on Monday.

Banerjee also remarked that “in the name of logical discrepancy, you can't delete the names of genuine voters.”
