Dion Waiters 22 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (4/5/2019)

It took one of the Heat commentators to mention it for me to notice, but man, Dion Waiters is shooting TONS of threes recently. He had been shooting more in general this season, probably as a result of his slight minutes reduction, because he seems like the kind of player who would take more and more shots as he got to play less and less, eventually culminating in three-minute, fifteen-shot-attempt performances. But these last few games, he's just chucking them up there like he's prime Antoine Walker.

Enough of them are going in where it's not a problem. In fact, since the Heat offense is usually not very potent, maybe he should be shooting it every time down the court. At this point, a Waiters three is likely worth more than any other shot besides Bam Adebayo dunks, but a Waiters three is way easier to acquire. Just have him run up there and shoot it. Jamal Crawford does it and doesn't get benched for it, so why not Waiters?

With this increase in three-balls bombed, his free-throw attempts have decreased to almost nothing. In his 28-point game against the Knicks, he shot 23 times without a free throw. In his 21-point game against the Celtics, 22 shots without one. This one was a little better: 17 shots with two free throws, but he missed both of them, so does it really matter?
