It's common for spouse's to have different heirs. Perhaps a couple does not have children and they each would like to leave their estate to their respective families. Or perhaps one or more of the spouses have a child or children from a previous relationship.

The problem is that unknowing mistakes are made when a couple engages incorrectly in estate planning, perhaps because they are trying to get something done "fast," or perhaps they did not get themselves educated.
