Earthquake In India : India has released its new National Seismic Zonation Map. The new map places the entire Himalayan arc in the highest-risk Zone 5 (formerly Zone V, now Zone VI). This means the entire Himalayan region, from Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, is now considered the country's most earthquake-prone region. The map was jointly prepared by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Earthquake In India : भारत ने अपना नया राष्ट्रीय भूकंप जोखिम नक्शा (सिस्मिक जोनेशन मैप) जारी कर दिया है। इस नए नक्शे में पूरे हिमालयी चाप को सबसे ऊंचे खतरे वाले जोन-5 (पहले इसे जोन-V कहा जाता था, अब जोन VI) में डाल दिया गया है। यानी कश्मीर से लेकर अरुणाचल प्रदेश तक का पूरा हिमालयी क्षेत्र अब देश का सबसे ज्यादा भूकंप-संवेदनशील इलाका मान लिया गया है।यह नक्शा राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (NDMA) और भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (BIS) ने मिलकर तैयार किया है। इसे बनाने में देशभर के 20 से ज्यादा वैज्ञानिक संस्थानों ने हिस्सा लिया।
