Описание к видео sukekiyo - 死霊のアリアナ [eng sub] LIVE HD

"Shiryou no Ariana", "Ariana the ghost", from their 2018 live 'mania no shikan' shikkoku no gi November 15th at Tokyo International Forum Hall C. This was requested by Monokuma Kurokuma.

This song appears to be about the movie (or the series of movies) "The Evil Dead"; in Japanese "shiryou no harawata". It's a horror movie from the 1980s that was remade in 2013. In Japan it seems to be specified as a splatter movie.
The song mentions the movie itself (both in the title, referencing the Japanese name of the movie, and in the lyrics, referencing the original), as well as the character Ash, who is the only one surviving the events taking place in the story, and arguably his sister in the basement. The narrator in the lyrics might identify with Ash's girlfriend (judging from the last line), who is also in the movie and dies a horrible death.

In an interview Kyo said that when he first heard the song ("shiryou no Ariana"), he naturally imagined a couple watching "The Evil Dead".

Annotations to this translation:

"Always having a movie of my taste on" - A little bit of a loose translation. The movie "runs" the entire time. I confirmed with my friend Haruka that this first line evokes an image of the movie being on constantly, non-stop, so that it's unclear if the person there is even watching or if it's on nevertheless.

"The elder sister peeking from the basement" - Usually this would be "my elder sister", but since the connection to the movie "The Evil Dead" is clear, and the elder sister in the movie is Ash's, I decided to leave open whose sister it is.

"Soon I have memorized my lines too" - "Lines" literally as in those of a script.

"In the end I couldn't even come once" - "Coming" as in orgasming.

2:03 - 2:33 - While I think Kyo is just repeating parts of the lyrics in these 30 seconds I can't for the life of me figure out what he is singing with all the distortion. Sorry!

I do not own sukekiyo or any of their music or performances.
I translate for fun and wanted to share this translation.
