How to Make your own Roman Clay wall application

After the pulling out the wet/ flooded carpet and dealing with drudgery when it came the disaster that hit our basement this past December, I was really to insert a bit of creativity.

This Roman Clay project idea came from a couple of inspirations. Both my travels abroad and my experience creating scenes and sets backstage in my college theater are the two reasons I felt like trying out this bold, yet warm and textural wall application.

Here is my recipe:
Fill a paint tray or bucket 2/3 of the way full with your chosen paint color (when selecting a paint color, it's ideal to go with a matte or satin finish- we are attempting to dull things down, not shine them up)
To that paint, add 1/3 joint compound.
Mix well and apply with a scrapper to the wall.
