X-Sector is one of the themed areas at Alton Towers, a popular theme park and resort located in Staffordshire, England. The X-Sector area was designed to resemble a futuristic, dystopian industrial complex, with metal structures and ominous sound effects.

X-Sector is home to several of the park's most popular and intense rides, including Oblivion and The Smiler. Oblivion was the first ride to be introduced to X-Sector in 1994 and was the world's first vertical-drop roller coaster. The Smiler, which opened in 2013, holds the world record for the most inversions on a roller coaster, with 14 in total. Oblivion was the world's first B&M dive coaster, while Smiler was the world's first 14-looping roller coaster.

In addition to thrill rides, X-Sector also features several food and beverage outlets, including Just Chicken, which serves fast food.

X-Sector is a popular area of the park, and often has long lines and wait times for the rides, especially during peak season. Alton Towers periodically updates and refreshes the rides which means a lot of iconic rides have been removed to make way for new ones. The most famous perhaps is The Black Hole a dark ride that opened in 1984 and closed in 2005. Submission, a giant looping ride that opened in 2001 and closed in 2008. Enterprise a spinning HUSS Enterprise ride that opened in 1984 and was removed in 2022 and replaced with a Retro Squad ride Twistatron.

Alton Towers Resort is a world-renowned theme park and resort located in the heart of Staffordshire, England. With over 40 rides and attractions, including 10 thrilling roller coasters, Alton Towers offers something for everyone, from families with young children to adrenaline-seeking thrill-seekers.

The park is situated on a sprawling estate that spans over 800 acres and is home to a variety of themed areas, including CBeebies Land, Forbidden Valley, X-Sector, World of David Wallimas and the iconic Towers Street. Each area is uniquely designed and offers its own set of attractions and experiences.

One of the most popular attractions at Alton Towers is the Wicker Man roller coaster, which opened in 2018 and is the UK's first wooden roller coaster to be built in over 20 years. The coaster is themed after the ancient pagan tradition of the Wicker Man and features special effects, fire, and a heart-pumping ride experience.
