Yamaha NTX5 Acoustic Guitar

Some of you were interested in my review of the Yamaha NTX5: This is an electro acoustic guitar. The acoustic volume is quiet, about 40 to 50% lower than my regular classical guitars, due to the thin body. However, the sound is warm and full. The pick up is one of the best ones I’ve ever tried, very clear and noiseless. It features a pick up and mic knob combined, I’m not impressed with the microphone feature, it sounds thin and trebly. The pick up is the star here. Plugged into an amp sounds extremely well.
For this recording I’m using a pair of KM184 microphones and the direct line, mixed 50/50. A little bit of eq to tame the low frequencies and some reverb.
I’m very happy with this guitar, my only challenge is the with the fretboard, I’m not used to playing arpeggios with thin necks, it will just require some practice.
