Ammonium nitrate emulsion (ANE) tanker trailer explosion investigation

Описание к видео Ammonium nitrate emulsion (ANE) tanker trailer explosion investigation

On 24 October 2022 a tanker trailer carrying an ammonium nitrate emulsion (ANE) caught fire and exploded approximately 150 kilometres east of Laverton. This explosion was the world’s first detonation involving ANE during transport since the introduction of bulk transport in the 1980s. Over the last few months there has been two further events in Western Australia involving fires and ANE tankers.

Dangerous Goods Safety, Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has released its investigation report into the event alongside an animation which outlines the findings of the investigation and learnings for industry. Recommendations from this investigation will assist industry in reducing the risk of fire and improve the safe and secure transport of ANE and other similar products.
