🎙️ Guest Spotlight: Dr. Belizaire
Dr. Ritha Belizaire is a double-board-certified general and colorectal surgeon in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas.

Dr. Belizaire earned her Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Yale University in 2002 and played on the women's varsity soccer team.

She went to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, completed a seven-year general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, including a two-year NIH-sponsored research fellowship, and finally finished her training with a one-year colorectal surgery fellowship at Mount Sinai West in New York City.

After several years in academics and employed medicine, she ventured out on her own and opened a solo private colorectal surgery practice, which celebrated one year in business this past July!

Outside of medicine and entrepreneurship, Dr. Belizaire is a proud single mom by choice of two young girls. She enjoys attempting to relive her glory days of competitive sports by playing tennis and dabbling in pickleball.
