हिमालय की गोद में 1925 में लाता गांव में गौरा देवी का जन्म ऊन व्यापारियों के परिवार में हुआ था। एक छोटी लड़की के रूप में, वह अपनी मां के साथ घर पर आग के लिए टूटी शाखाओं और टहनियों को इकट्ठा करने, खाना पकाने और खुद को गर्म रखने के लिए जाती थी। हमने एक लघु फिल्म के रूप में श्रीमती गौरा देवी के प्रेरक जीवन को चित्रित करने की पूरी कोशिश की है। । गौरा देवी जी हम सभी के लिए एक प्रेरणा हैं। गौरा का अर्थ है भगवान शिव की पत्नी और हां उनके नाम की तरह ही वह भी शक्ति और प्रकृति की प्रतीक थीं।
उत्तराखंड को ऐसी कई अद्भुत प्रेरणा व्यक्तित्वों से नवाजा गया है और हमने उनमें से एक को बेहतरीन तरीके से आपके सामने पेश करने की कोशिश की है।

In the foothills of the Himalayas in a small remote village in 1925, Gaura Devi was born into the family of wool traders. As a small girl, she would accompany her mother to gather broken branches and twigs for a fire at home, to cook and to keep themselves warm.
Once while collecting the twigs with her mother, she wondered, why they couldn't cut a big tree then they would not have to collect twigs every day. She was eight years old then. Her mother had replied, “The roots of the trees are like hands. They hold the earth to the side of the mountain. They also hold the water from the big rains and from the melting snow.
If anyone ever cuts down our brothers and sisters, our village will be washed away." This left a deep impact on her mind. She vowed to take care of the trees and always called them brothers and sisters, who protected the people of Garhwal and the Himalayan region. Later she was married at a young age, had a son and became a widow at the age of 22.
We have tried our best to portray the inspiring life of Smt. Gaura Devi by our lens in the form of a short film. Gaura Devi Ji is an inspiration to all of us. Gaura means wife of lord Shiva and yes just like her name she was an epitome of power and nature.
Uttarakhand is blessed with many such amazing inspiration personalities and we have tried to portray one of them in front of you in the best possible way.
