In this charity webinar we will review the key changes made by the Charities Act 2022 and their practical implications.

The Charities Act 2022 was passed earlier this year. The changes made by the Act are due to take effect over the next 12 months, with provisions implemented in three stages in autumn 2022, spring 2023 and autumn 2023. This includes new rules on amending the charity’s governing documents, using permanent endowment, paying trustees for goods, failed fundraising appeals, selling charity land, and making ex-gratia payments.

In this session, we will outline how the Charities Act 2022 is likely to impact charities, review the implementation timetable, and explain what trustees, managers and professionals supporting charities should be aware of, with particular attention to the changes due this autumn.
