A hidden Gem by WBFDC - booking done through west Bengal forest website
Located in the heart of North Bengal within the Samsing forest. It was a old trekking route for nature lovers and those who love the sound of the forest ... Its location gives you an opportunity to enjoy forest stay with the hills engulfing you and waterfall pass by your cottage. I would recommend this place for those who can avoid luxury stay coz their will be some concerns to electicity - bugs which are common in forest say and food. Excellent Staff -well mannered and great service you get with limited resources. Two Cottages with 4 rooms (each cottage has two rooms and one common sitting room with sofas) are located outside the camp and were functioning (camp was almost closed as other rooms and tents were not ready) and another family had booked 2 rooms in the cottage. The place is inside the forest area and you will hear chirping of birds most of the time. The place is very quiet and mornings are very calm. We saw quite a few birds near the river on which the hanging bridge is located. Also, we could see a few birds inside the River camp premises as more trees are located in the camp compound. No choice for food if you stay here. You can go out to the market for food but you will need a vehicle for the same or walk for 15/20 minutes. The food is cooked by the security guard. The rooms are well kept and clean. the bathroom is also very clean and well maintained. The forest dept. owns the place and tourists can book using the portal of the forest dept. We enjoyed our stay.
