Описание к видео Opportunities and Experiences from an MRC Funded PhD | AJ Venkatakrishnan, Molecular Biology

AJ Venkatakrishnan talks about what it's like to be a #PhD student with the MRC.

AJ Venkatakrishnan is a Post Doctoral scientist in the group of Dr Madan Babu at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular #Biology. Originally he applied to Dr Madan Babu's group as a summer student from India and spent several months working in the MRC. Having enjoyed the #research environment there, he decided to apply for a PhD. The following year he received a PhD position with an LMB Cambridge Scholarship.

He spent the next three years doing research on G-protein-coupled receptors. His work is to put together structural information in a common framework using computers and analysing these structures required development of methods and representation.

Working in the MRC gave him an opportunity to interact with scientists who have accomplished a lot in their respective fields and be part of the exchange of high impact ideas.
