Описание к видео Tucktec Kayak Fishing Setup

Tucktek Kayak Fishing Setup

Tucktec / Boto Playlist:    • Tucktec / Boto Folding Kayak

In this video, Sharon, one of the Two Tired Teachers, shows how she has set up her #Tucktec kayak for fishing. This isn't a how to fish video. This one simply shows some things Sharon has done with her Tucktec. If you have other suggestions, please post them below.

Sharon has put four plastic clamps on her kayak. Two are on the front right and left of the kayak, and two in the back right and left. Sharon uses them to tether the kayak, much as a cleet would on another kayak.

Also, Sharon has a slip knot on her basket, and she hangs it from one the clamp to keep it from getting away. It has come loose due to Sharon not tying the knot securely. She had put a bit a PCV pipe around the top of the basket. Sharon's anchor is a 3 pound weight with paracord wrapped around it.

She also has about 15' of paracord wrapped around a piece of pip insulation. She has that so that she can tether to a log sticking up out of the water. With a slipknot thrown over the log, she stays put.

When Sharon gets in the kayak, she has her tackle box on her left, probably because she's left handed. She fishes a lot with Dock Demons, short inexpensive fishing poles. The longest pole she uses in the kayak is about 5' long.

One of the things that Sharon has added to her Tucktec is some foam packing material that came with something she ordered. It has added no weight to the kayak, but it has doubled the height of the seat. She simply wrapped the foam in some duct take and, it has made the seat much more comfortable.

Behind her seat, Sharon has a plastic cutting board. She uses that for fish she wants to use as bait, or to measure bigger fish to see if they are long enough to keep.

To keep herself dry when she's using the kayak in the winter, Sharon bought a sauna suit. It was very inexpensive, and it keeps the water off. Additionally, Sharon carries a small insulated lunch sack in which she carries a bottle of water, maybe a snack, and any bait that needs to be kept cool. She throws and icepack in the sack and it's ready to go.

She does carry a fish finder. Her primary reason for carrying it is to let her know the depth of the water, but it does also show if there are fish in the area. She carries a milk crate behind her seat, and basically has it to get her stuff to the water.

Less than 10 minutes after parking, Sharon can have her Tucktec Kayak on the water.

Phil, one of our long time subscribers, let Sharon know the he uses a cordless drill and and a long paint stirrer. He has a paint stirrer bit on the drill, and he uses that if he needs to exit an area quickly. Sharon, of course, got a cordless drill and paint stirrer and has tried this method of having a small motor. She said Phil is brilliant for thinking of it. So, we give a shout out to Phil.
