GWML May '24 Recap: Music A&R w/The Orchard & Grace Weber

Takin a full look back at our incredible May ‘24 session with The Orchard! 😄

To close out season 7, our very own program founder Grace Weber set things off on stage with amazing live music performances. Our special guests Tevaar Smith & Mitch Dudley delivered a dynamic discussion & interview on our theme for the month, “Music A&R.” Music Lab Coordinator B~Free & the gentlemen discussed their early upbringings, their roles at the label, music distribution & helpful skillsets for navigating the music world as artists today. The takeaways were informative, engaging & inspirational for our audience members of all ages. & of course, the last half of Lab consisted of another amazing teen open mic, with eight incredible student acts that shared a wide range of talents with rapping, singing, guitar playing, music production, original music & heartwarming covers 🧡

We’re extremely grateful to have had such an amazing school year of sessions, & to have connected so many wonderful individuals through music & the arts! We look forward to our summer endeavors & continued community building for season 8 & beyond. The Music Lab is a FREE monthly music and arts education program and talent accelerator for Greater Milwaukee area high school students! At the Music Lab, students have the opportunity to learn about the music and entertainment industries through featured guests. They are also given the opportunity to collaborate, perform, and build relationships with their peers.
