Описание к видео 1st RECORDING OF: Over There - Peerless Quartet (1917)

Henry Burr & his Peerless group were first out of the gate with George M. Cohan’s stirring wartime anthem, and they shared strong record sales on the tune with such other artists as Nora Bayes    • 1917 Nora Bayes - Over There   and The American Quartet    • 1917 American Quartet - Over There   . This version also includes interpolations of the Cohan tunes “The Yankee Doodle Boy” (aka “I’m A Yankee Doodle Dandy”) and “The Grand Old Rag” (aka “You’re A Grand Old Flag”).

The original 78rpm single was issued on Columbia A2306 - Over There (Cohan) by the Peerless Quartette, recorded in NYC June 13, 1917
