This is our award winning Practicum in Audio Video Production Program at the Career Center at Riverside High School. It is a two-year program where students get to work in a full size studio with some of the latest technology in video production. Students meet for half-day every school day and still have the option to attend their home YISD campus if they desire.
Students will have the opportunity to earn real-world experiences through a number of different activities such as streaming and/or recording concerts, dance recitals and sports events. They may even have the opportunity to earn an internship at a local television station or other video/audio related business. Lots of community service hours and a number of industry certifications are also available through the program.
Students of this program have also had the opportunity to compete in SkillsUSA at the area, state and national levels. Students have consistently placed in the area competitions and have gone to the state level each year, where they have earned several silver medals and a gold against the best that Texas has to offer. They have even gone to nationals and placed fourth in the nation.
