बिहार में चुनाव है...राहुल कोई मौका छोड़ना नहीं चाहते...यही वजह है किराहुल गांधी ने आज कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष सीताराम केसरी के 25वीं पुण्यतिथी पर श्रद्धांजलि दी...नयी पीढ़ी सीताराम केसरी के नाम से अनजान हो सकती है. जानती भी होगी तो नाम भर. लेकिन एक समय वह भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के अत्यंत प्रभावशाली नेता थे. सीताराम केसरी का जन्म बिहार के दानापुर में एक केसरवानी बनिया परिवार में हुआ था...मंडल कमीशन लागू करने की घोषणा वीपी सिंह ने की थी, पर 27% ओबीसी कोटा दरअसल सीताराम केसरी के दस्तखत से ही 1993 में लागू हुआ था. 14 मार्च 1998 को कांग्रेस कार्य समिति की बैठक में अध्यक्ष की फजीहत की गई. प्रणब मुखर्जी ने सोनिया गांधी को कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष चुने जाने का प्रस्ताव किया और बिना किसी विमर्श के हंगामे के बीच उसे पारित घोषित कर दिया गया. उद्देश्य केवल नया अध्यक्ष चुनना नहीं था. केसरी को अपमानित करना भी था. सभ्य कही जाने वाली इस पार्टी के सभ्य लोगों ने केसरी की धोती खोल दी थी...और आज राहुल उन्हें श्रद्धांजली देने पहुंचे...जिसकी याद तक किसी कांग्रेसी को नहीं आती होगी...

The objective wasn't simply to elect a new President, but also to humiliate Kesri. The civilized people of this so-called civilized party had torn off Kesari's dhoti...and today Rahul came to pay tribute to him...which no Congressman would even remember...
