Is 60 Too Old To Mountain bike ?

Too old to mountain bikes? No, not yet, but I intend to find out what that age is, but it may take me some years to find that number. In the meantime, milepost birthdays should be celebrated big. Some people will go with a big party with many people, maybe even a live band, but that just isn’t my style. Instead we decided to push ourselves and headed to Highland Mountain Bike Park in Northfield NH.

I've had an upcoming milestone haunting me for the last year, - it’s turning ?? years old. It’s been messing with my head. Everyone will tell you, oh it’s just a number, nothing changes, well, that’s not entirely true. We all know things do change, the body gets older, but hopefully we all get wiser too.

There was one thing, however, I needed to get done and checked off my list that had been nagging me for the last year and a half, it’s doing the drop at the bottom of Lower Happy hour. If there ever was a time to do it, today was that day.

Most riders will tell you it’s a fairly easy drop, and I know that I’m more than capable of doing it, it’s just that I haven’t done it and but it’s just been messing with my head.

Also this past summer we’ve heard a lot of talk from our daughter how she was going to take us down the run NE Style, a double black diamond. Honestly, we weren’t too sure what to make of this - it’s a hard run and I wasn’t certain just how she thought she was going to get down it. But she had been talking all summer how she was going to show us the trail.

This was my best birthday EVER!
