Onan DJC Wet Stacking

Описание к видео Onan DJC Wet Stacking

This video demonstrates what is known as wet stacking with an Onan DJC diesel genset. Wet stacking seems to make a big mess and will happen when running the genset unloaded. Aside from a black oily mess it makes, it will potentially cause bigger problems by clogging up the exhaust ports in the head and exhaust manifold.

This subject was discussed lightly on the Smokstak Onan forum form time to time, but I don't believe anyone created a video to demonstrate the wet stacking problem.

What exactly is wet stacking???
Wet stacking refers to a condition where a diesel engine has a thick, dark liquid substance dripping from its exhausts. The condition occurs when a diesel engine’s un-used/unburned fuel, carbon particles, and accumulated moisture gather around the exhaust system components. This may happen when the engine is operated at light loads resulting in diesel fuel that is not properly burnt off during use. The engine ends up sending unburned fuel to the exhaust system.

A thread will be created on the Smokstak Onan forum to discuss this issue in detail.
