Welcome to a new edition of Dungeon Synth Sunday, and the introduction of a new banner artist for what remains of November – 1920s Irish Illustrator of the macabre and darker corners of the human psyche, Harry Clarke.

We begin todays’ three-album exploration of black metals adjacent soundworlds with Italian composer Machina Coeli. In 2019 he released this album of quintessential Dungeon Synth that incorporates and encapsulates the myriad genres lurking around the shadows of its core, and this month Kajdum’s Tower have given it a second edition cassette release in their signature wooden boxes.

A relatively brief introductory track of vintage atmospheric medievalism opens the portal from which two long-form pieces of crumbling melodic drones unspool, evoking misty cold stone castles, the mysteriously darkened forests surrounding them and whispers of the ancient magics binding the secrets of their world to the twilight.

First released in a 10-copy tape edition through the artists own Nigra Opera Productions, Kajdum’s Tower now present two new versions; 8 copies of tapes in hand-made wooden relic boxes, and 25 jewel case cassettes. Orders are open now:
