Good news for rail connectivity in Odisha. Trains are set to run through railway tunnels very soon as tunnel construction work is progressing rapidly in Boudh district. Track laying inside the tunnel has been completed, along with full illumination work.

The General Manager of East Coast Railway reviewed the ongoing construction and expressed satisfaction with the progress. While the project has reached its final stage, a few peripheral works are still pending and are expected to be completed shortly.

Around four railway tunnels are being constructed in the district, with nearly 90 percent of the work already finished. Additionally, on the Khurda–Balangir railway line, three tunnels are located between Daspalla and Madhapur in Nayagarh district.

Once completed, this project will significantly boost rail connectivity and regional development in central and western Odisha.
