Ranger Sakban, working with our partner Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) takes photos of a trip of bull elephants in the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem in Sumatra. In the video you can see Nikolas with his GPS collar on - these collars are a key method for rangers like Sakban and others to track and monitor these beautiful elephants. Our Elephant Conservation and Monitoring Units work hard to safeguard Sumatran elephants from human-elephant conflict, from poachers' snares, and from the illegal wildlife trade.
