I’m back training in the sandy hills outside Santiago, Chile, with local off-road instructor Christian Rodríguez (@rodriguez_rod) — rebuilding my confidence after crashing in deep sand on the first day of training.

For days we work on throttle control, balance, and momentum in soft terrain — the exact skills I’ll need for the Atacama Desert crossing ahead. Then Christian takes me back to the same dune where it all went wrong… to face it again, this time with control and belief.

It’s raw, hot, and humbling — but it’s also the most important step in preparing both myself and the Kove 800X Pro for the desert ahead.
After training, I bring the bike to one of Santiago’s best mechanics for a full service — fresh oil, tightened bolts, and a mindset reset.
