What's Another Few Years In Prison | Yakuza 5 | #7 | Wandering Helmsman

With Aoyama's Tojo army single-handedly defeated by Kiryu, the war between Tojo and Yamagasa is averted. But in an actually surprising twist, Morinaga of all people shows up to shoot and game over Aoyama, revealing himself to be a part of the conspiracy and not the dumb goon we had mistaken him for. Even so, Kiryu is keen on staying out of Yakuza affairs going forward, until he learns from the local detective that Goro Majima has been game overed in Kamurocho. Angry that he can't let that just go, he makes his way to Kamurocho, ending his part of this saga.

Shifting to Saejima's story, we start in 2010 where he's agreed to do the remainder of his time still owed after escaping Penitentiary No. 2 in Yakuza 4, so he voluntarily gives himself up to the police. Two years later, he's up for parole in Abashiri Prison in Hokkaido. Despite his good behavior, he is denied by the strict warden who says he keeps getting into scraps with another prisoner, Hiroshi Kugihara, who has a bone to pick with him for some reason. Despite Saejima never instigating and never fighting back, the warden denies parole. Now stuck in prison, Saejima must deal with Kugihara and figure out why he's being hounded by him...
