Starry Night Milky Way Timelapse on Hatteras Island in 4K - Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This is by far one of the creepiest places to shoot the stars in all the Outer Banks. Every 5 seconds the light from Cape Hatteras Lighthouse spins around exposing the scenery, and the constant moving light across the landscape will play tricks on your eyes, and you'll swear there is something out there. Blessed with clear skies and no wind, I knew this was going to be an epic chance to capture the milky way in this location. For about five hours, from 1am to sunrise, it took all I had to keep my lenses dry from constant fogging. I ended up wrapping and taping my lenses with hand warmers and my gloves which kept them warm enough to keep from fogging up. By sunrise myself and all my equipment was covered in frost, my hands were frozen but it was all worth it! The blue moving lights along the horizon are caused by fishing boats working just off shore.
