Great sounding Conrail GE stops for a fast crew change, White Cottage, PA. 2/01/1990

We are on the Monongahela Railway at White Cottage, PA as we listen to the fantastic sounds of one of Conrail's old 6 axle GE's leading and SD50. Conrail 6640-6753 exits the White Cottage tunnel with a north bound Somerset coal train. The middle of White Cottage tunnel is the top of the grade. The train is slowed down for a crew change that takes less than a minute. Meanwhile! The loaded coal train of about 12000 tons or more is draped over the top of the hill. So as the fresh crew takes over, care has to be taken in getting the heavy coal train started with out pulling a knuckle. All the crews where a friendly bunch of guys, and always quick to give you a wave or thumbs-up. Thanks for watching. Jackmp294 , 2-01-1990...
