Описание к видео Obasanjo: “The Decolonisation of Africa” Q&A – The Untold African History Every Youth Needs to Hear!

This isn’t just another documentary—it’s the truth no one else will tell. In this explosive Q&A session, former President Olusegun Obasanjo shares raw, unfiltered insights on Africa’s stolen legacy, the deep scars of colonisation, and the urgent need for true liberation—economic, psychological, and cultural.

“The Decolonisation of Africa” reveals the side of history often erased from Western narratives—told by Africans, for Africans. You’ll hear voices that lived the struggle, fought for freedom, and still challenge the world to recognize Africa’s power and potential.

Why every African youth must watch this:
Because understanding where we come from is the key to reclaiming where we’re going. This is not just history—it’s a blueprint for the future. Our future.

Share it. Discuss it. Own the narrative.

On a day steeped in reflection, legacy, and inspiration, the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London (UAL), played host to a stirring premiere that deserves global attention. “The Decolonisation of Africa”, a compelling new documentary series, was unveiled in partnership with UAL, The Africa Centre, and Accelerate Media Group.

The documentary is more than a historical recount—it’s a spiritual reclaiming of African identity and agency. Executive Producer Colette Otusheso shared the deeply personal journey behind the project’s creation, sparked by a pivotal conversation with former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and rooted in the visionary legacy of the late Dr. Herbert Wigwe, former CEO of Access Holdings.

Commissioned by Dr. Wigwe and produced by Accelerate Studios, the documentary peels back the layers of Africa’s complex history—slavery, colonisation, and the resilient struggle for freedom—through the voices of those who lived it and those determined to preserve it. Featuring rare insights from respected leaders like Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, H.E Joaquim Chissano, Lord David Owen, Baroness Chalker, and the late Chief Buthelezi, the series invites viewers to see Africa’s past with new eyes—and hear its truth in its own voice.

“This project began with a deep sense of purpose,” Otusheso said. “Dr. Wigwe believed in the power of storytelling to shape identity and preserve legacy. That belief continues to guide us.”

Key to the film’s authenticity is historian Ed Emeka Keazor, whose expertise ensured the project was not only accurate but also deeply resonant. “We knew this story needed depth, nuance, and integrity. Ed brought all of that and more,” Otusheso noted.

What emerged is a documentary that transcends screens—it is a declaration. A clarion call for Africans and the world to remember, honour, and build.

In a poignant Q&A session moderated by Olu Alake, CEO of The Africa Centre, President Obasanjo challenged the audience to consider: independence is not enough if economic, psychological, and cultural liberation are still out of reach.

“The Decolonisation of Africa” is a six-part series that deserves to be seen, shared, and talked about. It’s a tribute, a lesson, and above all, a movement.

Trust us—this is a MUST WATCH.
