YouTube can be a great way to make some extra money — if done correctly. This video is proof that it's possible to make money even if you have a small channel with little to no subscribers.
Summary:
Starting My New Channel:
I created a new channel and made videos about everything I wanted. The idea was to experiment with different video ideas - reviews, workout videos, and reviews.
First Attempt:
My first attempt at making money was through Tesla's referral program. The idea was to make a video reviewing my brand new Tesla, and give my code to viewers so that we'd both get 6 months worth of free supercharging.
Second Attempt:
Since the first idea didn't worked, I moved on to the Amazon's Associates program which is a very popular way to get started with affiliate marketing. The only thing you need to get started is a website, and you can do this for little to no money with a platform like Hostinger, which is what I used.
The results:
There were a lot of ups and downs, but in the end, Tesla bringing back their referral program allowed me to make the bulk of the money. Even without that, I would've still made a few hundred bucks from Amazon affiliate commissions, which still isn't bad for a brand new channel with less than 300 subscribers.
The reason it worked out for me is because the topic had high demand, and I also did a lot of research beforehand with the thumbnail, and title.
What Can You Learn From My Story?:
One way you can start is to take something you use every day and see if you can promote it online. The second thing is don't underestimate the power of social media and organic marketing. Most people have some way of giving value on the internet, you just need to get started and don't give up whatever happens!
