https://sopa.tulane.edu/ - On May 7, 2017, LaToya Cantrell became New Orleans’ 51st mayor, promising to bring the same community-oriented and ambitious approach to public service that drove her council and neighborhood development career.

To support her, her team, and the many city agencies charged with advancing a new municipal policy agenda, a special panel has been assembled by Tulane University to articulate the most effective local government polices from around the country. And, to do so in a way that is specifically relevant to the New Orleans context and this mayor’s priorities.

The speakers are national experts in the area of urban innovation and widely seen as both thinkers and doers, having led many successful urban experiments and championed the critical connection between universities and local government. Panelists will address these and other issues and actively engage with local officials in an effort to positively inform a policy agenda for 2018 and beyond.
