Join Preservation Maryland Executive Director Nicholas Redding and WWII historian and scholar Jared Frederick for a discussion on the history, significance, and impact of D-Day. The conversation will take place 76 years to the moment that paratroopers landed in the fields of Normandy starting the greatest amphibious assault in world history.

Jared Frederick, a Penn State Instructor and author of "Dispatches of D-Day: A People's History of the Normandy Invasion" will explore the human toll and impact of the famous battle and provide insight into the Marylanders present for the assault. Since childhood, Jared Frederick has been captivated by the people and ideas that dramatically shaped history. For over a decade, he has shared his passion for the past as an author, artist, park ranger, and professor.

Nicholas Redding serves as the Executive Director of Preservation Maryland, one of the nation’s oldest statewide preservation groups. Prior to joining the organization in 2014, he served in leadership capacities at several preservation and heritage non-profits including as Deputy Director for Advocacy at the Civil War Trust. He is a graduate of Shepherd University and lives with his wife, daughter and two beagles near Frederick, Maryland.
