Hanah Damot and John Vincent Flores presented their work on Vision Zero Art & Road Safety for Surrey's Newcomer Youth, at Innovations in Research: Towards Equity on April 13, 2021.

Hanah and JV are undergraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences with experience in health promotion, community engagement and social innovation. On this project, they are working with Nancy Clark, an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Paola Ardiles, a Faculty of Health Sciences Lecturer and Teaching Fellow, through the Health Change Lab.

This event is part of Towards Equity, SFU Public Square’s 2021 Community Summit Series, taking place online throughout the year to bring the university into conversation with local and global communities to tackle this question: What must we understand –and do– to recover equitably from COVID-19 and reimagine our systems to confront the intersecting crises of inequality, systemic racism and climate change?
