Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) also sometimes mispronounced as silver diamond fluoride is a liquid that dentists can apply in-office to small areas of tooth decay to help stop the progression of dental cavities. This treatment is used most often in babies, toddlers, and young children unable to cooperate for dental treatment in the office as well as in adults with conditions that limit their ability to receive dental restorative treatment, including many elderly patients.
