With the Victorious Festival in full swing in Southsea, this caused a temporary pause for Southsea's parkrun this week, which significantly increased our numbers here at Lee. A total of 537 runners, including quite a few first timers (as I conducted the first timers' briefing), gathered on the promenade, ready to start their Saturday morning ritual: parkrun.

The bank holiday weather was favorable, featuring a light breeze and some wispy cloud cover. When the Run Director gave the command, "3, 2, 1, go," a long line of colorful runners spread out as far as the eye could see.

As the front runners made their way back, we approached Browndown and began the longer slog up to the Shack, passing the start/finish area on the route. This brought us past the 4 km mark, after which we had a 1 km run into the finish line by the "On the Water Cafe."

There were plenty of friendly waves and happy runners out on the course, so hopefully many achieved personal bests (PBs).
