Travis Head has been in outstanding form in the Ashes, scoring two individual hundreds in the series, while Alex Carey has scored one and England as a team has managed one. Head’s latest hundred came on the third day of the third Test at the Adelaide Oval, marking the eleventh century of his Test career. With this, he created history by becoming only the fifth batter ever to score four successive Test centuries at the same Australian venue, joining the elite company of Don Bradman, Wally Hammond, Michael Clarke and Steven Smith. This was also the fourth consecutive time Head reached three figures at the Adelaide Oval. Promoted to open in the opening match of the Ashes twenty twenty-six in Perth, he had earlier smashed a blazing century, scoring one hundred twenty-three off eighty-three balls. After a run of three low scores, Head bounced back in style again with another brilliant hundred, firmly strengthening Australia’s position and almost securing his place as an opener for the foreseeable future.
