Ibanez Blazer BL550 Electric Guitar (1982) - 2020 Test Drive

This video is intended for educational purposes and is being posted to help anyone who is interested in Ibanez Guitars from Japan's Golden Era of Guitar Manufacturing (1972 - 1988).

Ibanez and a handful of other companies in Japan began manufacturing high-quality guitars that rivaled and sometimes surpassed the quality of their American counterparts during the 1970's and 1980's. At one point guitar manufacturing giant Gibson took legal action against Ibanez. Ibanez had successfully cloned Gibson's iconic Les Paul model and (according to Gibson) caused "loss of revenue" for Gibson. The resulting legal action forced Ibanez to change some aspects of the design, resulting in, what are now known as Ibanez "Lawsuit Era" guitars.

The guitar being demonstrated here is a 1982 Ibanez Blazer in Regal Blue.
