In the year 2016, the prime minister of the country, Narendra Modi, announced a new scheme from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, called Ujjwala Yojana. Under this scheme, a target was set to provide about eight crore gas connections by March 2020. So far, nine crore connections have been given under this scheme. We went to some rural areas of Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh and talked to women and tried to find out how much benefit they are getting from this scheme.
